All we ask in return for your participation in the Delmarva Power Energize Education Program is that your students complete a short survey. The student survey contains a pre- and post-program quiz. Survey responses help gauge the knowledge gained by each student during the program. If your students take a pledge to be energy efficient and return their student surveys, each student will receive a certificate of achievement! A self-addressed postage-paid return envelope is provided in your teacher materials to make the return of these surveys even easier for you. If your class is distance learning, please have your students complete the Student Survey form online at Delmarva PowerEnergizeEdu.com Students will need your teacher seven-digit ID number to access the online Student Survey form.
There are a limited number of Energy 101 kits available for each school year. If you are a 5th grade, 6th grade or high school teacher and have already been contacted about participating in the program, you can enroll now here!
There is no additional cost to you, your students, or your school district.
When you enroll in the Delmarva Power Energize Education Program, one kit will be provided for each student enrolled in your class with no maximum number of kits for each class. However, there are a limited number of kits available for each school year. When this maximum number of kits has been reached, no more classrooms will be able to participate in the program until the following school year.
When you enroll in the Delmarva Power Energize Education Program, your school will get to receive energy education that can help make a positive impact on your immediate community. In addition to teaching lessons that will promote lifelong efficient use of energy by your students and their households, each participating teacher will receive a gift card in the amount of $50 for their classroom when 80 percent of their student surveys are completed and returned by the deadline indicated on the teacher materials.
LED lightbulbs do not contain hazardous materials, and therefore can safely be disposed of the same way you would dispose a broken glass. However, 95 percent of an LED lightbulb is recyclable, so recycling your LED lightbulbs is the best way to dispose of them. Simply call your local government or waste management company to learn the recycling policy in your area.
