Students
Your teacher has elected to have your class participate in the Delmarva Power Energize Education Program. The program will help you learn how to use energy efficiently, and will help you save your family and household money along the way!
The Delmarva Power Energize Education Program was developed to teach 5th and 6th grade, and high school students easy ways to use energy more efficiently while increasing the energy savings in their homes. Program content supports Maryland state Learning Standards so it is easily integrated into your class's existing curriculum.
When you install the items from your Energy 101 kit, and your family uses energy efficiently at home, you will save energy and lessen your environmental footprint. Also, your family can save money on their utility bill, so it's a win-win!
Your family should help you install the items in your Energy 101 kit and help you complete the activities you receive as part of the program. They can also remind you to return your completed student workbook to your teacher.
No. Due to the limited number of kits produced, only one kit is available to each student.
LED lightbulbs do not contain hazardous materials, so you can dispose of an LED lightbulb the same way you would dispose of broken glass. However, 95 percent of an LED lightbulb is recyclable, so recycling your LED lightbulbs is the best way to dispose of them. Simply call your local government or waste management company to learn the recycling policy in your area.
